I can't say I wasn't warned about the King's Birthday. I mean I know, I know, it's been like a week, what am I even going on about. And not only that, I'm still in Temair! It could be so much worse! I could be in some little nowhere town on the border, just eating sweetmeats and saying a cheer to King Donnal and Prince Ian and Princess Seraphine, but it isn't the same. Especially since the Prince and Princess are home, and they have that, erm, Hanalan princess?? I think?? To show off for.
They're probably still partying in Eblar right now.
Well, whatever, it was a good day. Hardly a fantastic day like I've gotten used to, but good enough. We had a big dinner, the neighbors came over, quizzed me about my career, commented on how they always knew I'd give up and come back home to pick up Dad's work. I didn't really have the heart to set them straight, really. They'll come around once I'm done here and wonder where it is I ran off to again and that'll have to do! I'm trying to work out a deal with the folks, anyway, maybe see if there's somewhere else I can stay that I won't have to hang around annoying them. They're busy people. I'm sure I can find a place of my own, there's always people renting.
And I think I'm going to check on the closest theater, I've been hearing a little buzz out of there about some sort of auditions.
